Minneapolis Headshot Session | Liza Amaral Creative
Apr 7, 2020

There’s nothing like getting to work with a fellow creative. I was so excited to have the opportunity to take some headshots for my good friend and college roommate Liza while I was in Minneapolis last June. Liza has always been creative. In fashion, photography, design, and basically just everything she does! So it came as no surprise when she decided to open a design studio in Minneapolis. She is a talented branding and logo designer as well as photographer! She came along as my second shooter for the wedding I…

Ballard Locks Family Photos | Seattle, Washington

I’ve been fortunate to work with quite a few young families over the past couple of years. I just love witnessing this stage of life. Working with the Kozak family was no exception. Jessie and Mike are incredible parents to baby John, and I was thrilled that we got to take these photos on a weekend that Jessie’s family was in town. It was great being able to grab a few group shots, grandma/grandson shots, and auntie/nephew shots. Little ones grow so fast, and investing in professional photography at…

Puget Sound Anniversary Photos | Nicole and Matt
Mar 12, 2020

About this time last year, I was beyond thrilled to hear word that my good friend from high school, Nicole, was going to be visiting with her husband, Matt, over the summer. After high school, Nicole’s family coincidentally moved to Texas at the same time as she headed off to SMU in Dallas, meaning we didn’t get to catch up over winter and spring breaks from school. Having only seen her a handful of times since graduation (another visit a few years prior, and then her 2018 wedding in Texas), I was…

Lake Harriet Headshots | Minneapolis, Minnesota

I did these headshots with my dear friend while I was in Minnesota shooting a wedding. Emily was gracious enough to let me stay with her while I was in town, and was so hospitable. I’ve worked with her before - taking headshots for her food blog, Yumbler. She is an incredibly talented cook, and I was lucky enough…

Summer Wedding | Lake Oswego, Oregon
Jan 4, 2020

I was thrilled when I learned that Cristina and Cole’s August wedding would take place in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I was excited to take a micro road trip down south, and the drive to Portland is so beautiful. It was an especially fun drive, as the new Taylor Swift album, Lover, had come out the night before. I played it on a loop the entire way there. It was a sunny day, and I was as happy as a clam. I arrived at their wedding venue - the temple where members of their church get married - which as you can see…

Lake Cushman Engagements | Hoodsport, Washington

January 2nd, and my second blog of the year! Not a bad start if you ask me. I loved going through this engagement session and picking out some of my favorites for this blog. I was pumped when Alyssa and Torrey told me they wanted to do their engagements out at Lake Cushman! I love hiking out there - Lena Lake is a classic. A couple weeks before their shoot, I took a few friends out to the lake with me and we drove all over location scouting. I consider location scouting - and the 100 or so miles of…

Minnesota Wedding | Camrose Hill Flower Farm
Jan 1, 2020

I started off the summer of 2019 by flying over to Minneapolis for Jess and Magnus’ wedding at beautiful Camrose Hill Flower Farm. Yes, flower farm!! It was a gorgeous setting. This was such a special wedding for me because I knew the bride and groom from our freshman year dorm building at St. Olaf! It was a little bit of a trip seeing them get married - very surreal, but so beautiful. The toasts get me at every wedding, and these ones were particularly touching. The forecast called for rain, and I arrived…

Hi there! If you've found your way to my blog, welcome! I'm Jeanette, and this is a little bit about me: I've lived in Washington state most of my life, and I absolutely love it here. I went off to the Midwest for college, and it will always have a special place in my heart. While in college, I studied abroad at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and fell in love with the Scottish way of life. Stonehaven, Scotland is one of my favorite places in the entire world. As of now, I am happy to be in the place I've always called home…

Hello!!! One way or another, you've found your way to my website and blog. Thank you for being here! I'm so thankful you've taken some time out of your day - however much or little you are able to spare - to give my page a look, or read a few blog posts. I am Jeanette, a twenty-something portrait photographer working primarily in the South Puget Sound area of Western Washington. This is just a little bit of my story. In 9th grade, I took photos on my point and shoot of some flowers in the yard and thought…
